I was shocked to discover that the city council wants to demolish the houses around the Granby Triangle. It’s a lovely area with a lot of potential. The residents around Cairns Street and the Granby triangle are fighting to hold their community together and stop the council’s downgrading plans with initiatives such as holding a monthly street market where money raised is used to help beautify the street. Saturday saw ‘A Small Cinema‘ on Bold Street, part of the AND Festival and the Bold Street Festival.

ipod version In August, the printing of the Liverpool Post and Echo moved out of the city to a super site in Oldham. I caught up with Paul MacHenry who is part of a 3rd generation working in the printing trade. Since the move he has now retired after 45 years in the business.
